What can you find in this package?
- XGTool
This is the XG editor/librarian program file
- tools/MIDI In.pch tools/MIDI Out.pch
Patches for Bars&Pipes' Midi In and Midi Out tool.
With this you can permanently enable the reception
and transmission of System Exclusive messages. You
don't have to turn them on on every channel each
time you load B&P (which is very annoying).
See the instructions in tools/README for patching.
- c/spatch
This is the patching utility for the above patches.
- libs/
This directory contains midi.library. It is just for
those who don't have any midi library, yet, so they
can try XGTool, too. Don't forget to set the
XGTOOLOUT environment variable to MIDI with
setenv XGTOOLOUT MIDI
since by default XGTool tries to use
blueribbon.library!
- libs/mui/Lamp
This is the Lamp class used by XGTool. See the
doc/Lamp_mcc.copyright file for how to obtain new
versions of the class!
- examples/ArmsOfLove
A midifile and its XGE settings file. The latter can
be loaded into XGTool. The original song is by Amy
Grant, but I'm not sure. It is only for testing.
I made it in 30 minutes or so, therefore don't
expect pro quality although it sounds quite good
if you send out the settings prior to playing.
